WHO OWNS THE AGENT’S MEMORY?

There’s a nifty test for who owns your agent’s memory when decisions need to be checked and explained.

If someone asks what information the agent had at 06:45 on Monday, the answer shouldn’t depend on asking the model to recreate its own history.

Like with shift logs, where the person on shift reads the current record, does the work and records what changed. And when their shift ends, the record stays with the organisation.

So an agent can work the same way: read the record, do the task, then submit an update for the workflow to validate and commit. And when the session ends? The record stays with the organisation.
