EBDVF 2026: AI, DATA AND HUMAN RESPONSIBILITY
AI systems are already capable of consequential work. And we’re all now deciding what surrounds them.
Which data and infrastructure can we depend on? What evidence can their decisions leave behind? Where does human judgement remain?
These are long-lived choices. They cross engineering, policy, behavioural science and organisational practice. No single profession can settle them alone.
Which is why, on 30 September, researchers, policy-makers and industry leaders from across Europe will meet in Galway to work on those questions at the European Big Data Value Forum.
EBDVF is the BDVA - Big Data Value Association flagship event - and associated with the Irish EU Presidency. Across two days, it melds together conversations that usually happen separately - industrial AI, AI-ready data, security, data spaces, policy and human responsibility.
Dedicated matchmaking sessions also connect industry and research organisations.
It's a chance to discuss what you're working on, hear what others have learned, and give researchers a feel for what happens when an idea meets a production line, a quality review or a building full of people who have to make it work.
Brightbeam is a full BDVA member, and we're contributing to the human-in-the-loop and generative AI sessions. Dr Arsalan Shahid will also join the panel exploring how people and intelligent agents work together.
